Music Lessons of Yesteryears

Last spring I came into a collection of old books of sheet music. As I sightread through them (a nice break from writing) I am often delighted to see the date for individual lessons.  For example, I am currently looking at a book of Clementi sonatas copyrighted 1893.

Dates for assigned movements are from the 1920s.

I find myself wondering:
     Who was the teacher?
     Who was the student?
Did he/she continue on in music?

I'll probably never know the answer to this, but that doesn't keep me from imagining about it.
